Recruiting can feel complicated, but families do not have to navigate it without asking questions. Start by identifying the athlete’s academic interests and what they want from their college experience.

Ask: What academic programs fit? What does the coach need to evaluate? What are the next steps and timelines? What costs and financial aid should we understand? What other options fit if this opportunity does not work out?

Keep notes after conversations and confirm details with the school. Recruiting rules and eligibility requirements change and can differ, so check the current rules with the appropriate organizations. An evaluation, invitation, or conversation is not a promise of admission, a scholarship, or a roster spot.
